Motion Picture and Television studies began for me while earning an Associates of Applied Sciences at San Antonio College, San Antonio, Texas. Plenty of hands on educational exposure to all phases of production confirmed this was the correct path for me. I earned a Bachelor of Arts & Applied Sciences from the Herbert E. Butt School of Business and Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word, in San Antonio, Texas, as a Dean’s List student. This was in preparation for doing business in the motion picture and television industry. My educational endeavors continue towards a Master of Fine Arts in the Graduate Film School of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I am currently two classes shy of my Master of Fine Art degree with a concentration in Directing. Professional Experience includes corporate video production at Intellogic Trace, various student films, and interning in both the production office and camera department on New Line Cinema’s “8 Seconds.” Intellogic Trace provided foray into a directing career when given the opportunity to direct “cold script” technical training videos as an intern. My reason for the pairing of Motion Picture and Television studies and myself is a fundamental symbiotic relationship between the audio-visual language and the way in which I view the world and communicate with others. You might say I did not choose my career, but it chose me. I currently reside in San Antonio, Texas, and speak fluent English. When not working on projects I like working on building a catalog of original screenplays, learning effects software, some recreational shooting at the range, and being a caregiver for my disabled parents.
Reviews
David Hodge’s projects are influenced by his experiences. I like his thoughtful and disciplined approach to creating stories.
He is adaptable and responds to criticism well. His awareness of the responsibility of the director is particularly well noted as well as his willingness to collaborate.
David Hodge also brings a mise-en-scene knowledge to his filmmaking.
He will not be outclassed when it comes to the setting and environment of his main characters. He will also do well at interviews, story meetings, or promoting his projects at film festivals or to the press.
I know this because I’ve seen him use his quietly persuasive and intelligent views in class and at his review. His contemplative listening skills are superb. David is well mannered. David is quality.
David Hodge is always moving forward with his directing career and I want to see all his future work.
I know he will continue to be an avid learner and contributor to the exciting digital future of movies.

“David Hodge has impressed me with his abilities as a storyteller. He makes choices that one wouldn’t expect and pulls them off with flourish. He also writes the kind of stories most of us would like to see on the screen.”
